TempleOS

TempleOS isn’t really your daily use operating system of today but it is a very interesting, fun, lightweight and easy to use system.

This OS is said to be the prophesied third temple. It was written entirely by Terry A. Davis and it is his final gift to us. He wrote the compiler, the language it runs on (HolyC), the kernel, several games (unfun and fun), etc. Everything runs in ring 0 and there is no networking. There are forks you can find on github that do support this.

It is unfortunate Terry’s illness made him act in some ways but that shouldn’t take away from the greatness of TempleOS. Download it for yourself and spin up in a VM or on hardware such as a classic thnkpad.
